Empire - Season 2 Episode 15: More Than Kin
The series centers around a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founders' family as they fight for control of the company. Perhaps due to the season's two-part structure and longer total running time than the short, surprise-hit Season One - the story is getting a bit soft, or more than a bit.

"More Than Kin" was dull and predictable affair. The past two episodes haven been terrible and the show needs to stop retreading the same storylines over again.

Peace in the Lyon family is always just one exposed secret or conversation away from crumbling. It was no different on this week's episode, "More Than Kin," but somehow it managed to hold.

"More Than Kin" is terrible, but not especially terrible or differently terrible compared to anything else Empire has done this season.

"More Than Kin," had a lot of the things I look for in a quality episode: a heartfelt conversation between the Lyon brothers, Cookie one-liners, musical numbers, acknowledgement of cultural issues, etc.

The rapid-fire storytelling viewers became accustomed to in the first season is back in tonight's episode of Empire, entitled "More Than Kin."

Because of her quick thinking and general fabulousness, the board proposes that Lucious and Cookie run Empire as co-CEOs. Lucious accepts. I can't wait to see what the logo looks like next week.

While we saw the rush of scheming and blind fury in Lucious' eyes as he embraced you... it's interesting that director Sanaa Hamri didn't show your face [Cookie] in that moment.
