There's an elegance and refinement to the episode that can be attributed to Gyllenhaal's direction, and the result is a smooth and polished, subtly-stylistic hour.

The final shot of the town empty and silent as we finally see the entrance to the Black Lodge is a great capper to a pretty good episode that sets thing up for a spectacular finale.

Things are getting pretty good. There's still some sh*t I don't care about, but all in all, this is pretty fully rad.
