The new season begins when a huge prehistoric crocodile is released from its icy tomb. There appears to be a mysterious pathway when intensive underwater agriculture and mining warms the South Atlantic at this moment. Meanwhile, Seaquest finds an ancient helmet that appears to be from the lost city of Atlantis, where there is a mystery.

The revamped show was greatly more entertaining than last year's lumbering scow. It's no "Star Trek," but it's a considerable improvement.
