The Windsors - Season 3
The third season completes new comic events, as the government calls on more people, including the royal family, to encourage the divided nation that is emerging. It seems that the younger members of the royal family are eager to play their part towards that family, but the older generation is still standing still. Meanwhile, Camilla is working to stir more resentment, and Beatrice and Eugene are launching a new project that looks different.

The joy of The Windsors is in the absurdist detail, with particular attention paid to the various royal accents.

As a comedy this works best when running ridiculously with make-believe rather than grappling with the real-life absurdist dysfunction we all know about.

Charles, Andy and the rest were wearing donkey jackets and waving placards around a brazier - a gag that might have worked better if Jeremy Corbyn were now Prime Minister. But laugh-out-loud lines made up for that.

The Windsors is a much cleverer show than it lets on.
