Over the 12 years it's been airing, Moving On (overseen by the great Jimmy McGovern) has often been better than you might think, featuring some decent plays about people facing pivotal moments in their lives.

The acting from Nico Mirallegro as Ben was decent, and from Marie Critchley and Mark Womack as his parents. But it all slid into sentimentality, and I had to stifle a groan.
