Though Gossip Girl might not be in your demographic wheelhouse, and so its stories may probably seem mundane and, well, soap-filled, this series nails what it sets out to do for the CW and a certain segment of the audience.

Gossip Girl does manage one mean feat - it's both intrinsically bland and more terrifyingly cynical than the most heartless of Internet gossips. But I wouldn't go so far as to call that an actual accomplishment.

Lord help me, I loved spending an hour hating them, their pedigrees, and their unlimited credit cards. It was like studying the peculiar mating rituals and shopping habits of the species Manhattanus Elitus.

If it isn't already obvious, Gossip Girl should be a good ride, at least until all the characters become more and more likable and there's no conflict or tension anymore.
