Doctor Who - Season 1
The series depicts the adventures of The Doctor and his new companion Rose. They embark on yet more far-flung and improbable adventures: traveling 5,000,000,000 years into the future as the Earth is about to be swallowed by the sun. Among the elite alien guests assembled to watch the phenomenon is Lady Cassandra, who takes pride in being the last pure human, though she has received many operations that have altered her image.

The thrill-filled cliffhangers of yore are gone, taking with them with the child's urge to watch TV from behind the sofa, breath bated.March 17, 2006
Between the Doctor and Rose there is genuine, old-fashioned chemistry, and their interaction, which occasionally takes on the aspect of screwball comedy, is much the best thing in the show.November 15, 2013
Thundered back onto the BBC in a manner that honored the series' canon while also injecting new energy and reestablishing a show previously aimed primarily at children as one sophisticated enough that adult geeks could love it unabashedly. [Blu-ray]November 27, 2013
If the program was inquisitive science fiction in 1963 and an alien invasion thriller in 1970, then in 2005 it must be considered a character drama.March 17, 2006
To my novice's eye, it's pretty decent hokum-fast, corny, genial, honest in its schlock.
