Defiance has always been a fine enough, albeit perplexing series.

Moving into the gritty post-apocalyptic storytelling isn't a bad move for Defiance.

The show is definitely darker and more Mad Max-esque. Or maybe Game of Thrones is a more apt comparison, as winter has clearly come for our heroes. There's certainly a cold, icy aesthetic to the show's presentation this year.

Because everyone is expected to put Defiance first, it stands to reason that the show will keep retreading the same ground.

Despite knowing better at this point, I found myself liking the Season 3 premiere of Defiance.
