It is certainly vulgar, especially in terms of the duo's realistically limited teenage vocabulary, but the earliest episodes are by far coarser in both rough visuals and more disturbing content.

Most of the time what the two ended up doing wasn't anywhere close to cool, and the only women that came near them usually were trying to take advantage of the boys' stupidity, but damn if it wasn't fun to watch.

Basically, you're either a fan of Beavis and Butt-Head or you hate them. There's probably no winning over the haters at this point, but fans can rejoice at two of the greatest comic simpletons to ever cackle endlessly and pointlessly for our amusement.

The fearlessly minimalist animated smash is first and foremost a feral parody of its target demographic: It reduces the average MTV viewer to a semi-literate, almost sub-verbal mass of seething, barely controlled impulses.
August 21, 2019
The ludicrously crude and endlessly quotable Beavis and Butt-Head defined juvenile humor for seven seasons on MTV.

The titular characters are pretty bad, but even worse is that their negativity doesn't really stand out from the rest of the cast, who with few exceptions fall into stereotypical channels of ineffective adults, silly girls, and slacker teens.

Beavis and Butt-head starts out with a Led-Zeppelin-like bang and ends with a Debbie Gibson whimper.
