'Next of Kin" is a reminder of how much Arrow can get away with when it peppers its episodes with funny, character-driven moments and some solid fight scenes.

Arrow might be grim, but it has a sense of humor about itself. More importantly, its writers seem much more determined to focus on people for plot.

If Arrow can somehow avoid doing a repeat of its two weakest seasons...it's good enough for me...Overall, "Next of Kin" worked better than I imagined it would.
