The series returns to new and strong events through the third season, which looks different. The season begins with a wide range of events, including the one in which Mary Berg was found strangled in her bed, where investigators confronted a scientist of masked Klan members and the blue Yankees blood where the truth is stranger than fiction. On the other hand, in Ohio, 1954, when Marilyn Sheppard was found beaten to death in her bedroom, it would take more than thirty years to gather the truth about what had happened the night she died.
