The series comes back again with many powerful and different adventures, with the eighth season completing the previous season with a series of new and powerful events. The season opens with events, where the Russians do not trust René, faced the negotiations between the United States and Camastan hitch, and became the past CTU investigator Dana Walsh Kabousha. On the other hand, President Hassan's actions have become frantic and arresting former faces of Dana, while Rooney and Jack open the hornet's nest among the Russian world in New York.

The show's writers have repeated themselves so many times that by now even the most generous, most deliriously inventive allegorical reading of the series wouldn't be able to extract much beyond an indecisive libertarian populism.
