Tess is a woman who traveled in a long journey on L train circa 2006. She traveled to the city to work, without friends, but she knows her goal. Tess works in a high restaurant, and does some other works. She wanted to get more from her life. A special kind of drama we will follow in this series, and we will find some events that affect us.

Sweetbitter does a good job of illustrating how challenging it is to toggle between those two environments all night, every night, while trying to maintain sanity. Where it struggles is in its character development.
