Kursk
History seems to be re-emerging through the dramatic story of the 2000 K-141 Kursk, which was a real tragedy because of the government's neglect that followed. Events begin as the sailors did their best to escape death. On the other hand, their families are there to resist the dilemma of political obstacles and impossible opportunities to help them escape from death.

It is a perfect reconstruction of a historical episode that is almost as current. [Full Review in Spanish]

Moments of suspense are abound here, but not abundant.

Thomas Vinterberg adapts one of the more controversial accounts of the tragedy, but strikes an even keel between humanising the doomed seamen and demonising the high command who left them to die.

It's a heartbreaking, troubling film about men whose lives were cruelly deprioritised and whose families remain ever altered as a result.

On the mainland, the struggle of women, parents and children is also tense and intense. [Director Thomas] Vinterberg goes from one to the other, trying to give them the same weight. [Full review in Spanish]

"Kursk" occasionally lands an emotive blow but only in its more fictionalized stretches, while it pulls its punches with the thorniest and most provocative elements of the real story...
