First film appearance (Franicis Ford Coppola's) Tucker: The Man and his Dream, portraying a newshound, in a scene with Jeff Bridges. First horror role: Dr Nevin in the very low budget The Chilling which also starred Linda Blair.Born in Johnstone, Scotland one mile from William Wallace (Braveheart) monument. He started performing at family parties at six. Took up guitar at 16, sang in bands (Celtic/Roots/Pop/World music) while going through college. (UC Berkeley, California where he created the role of a kilted Malvolio (Twelfth Night) on the Doe classical staircase).Continued acting with ex San Francisco Mime Troupers, Joe Bellan and Joan Mankin, doing physical comedy, later graduating from ACT (American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco) Acting Certificate Program.Private Study: Master Class with Anthony Taccone (Angels in America-Perestroika/Berkeley Repertory Co), 1988-91.Performed in over 60 productions around the SF Bay Area. Shakespeare to Modern. Won two Bay Area Critics Circle Awards for Ensemble performances in: Four Plays of the Sea (Eugene O'Neill) and Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, (Frank McGuinness), and for Independent Sci-Fi short, DoingTime (48hr Film Festival).Film Festivals Affiliation Mill Valley Film Festival, Oscar Night (CFI-California Film Institute, San Rafael, California), Tiburon Film Festival, Marin Co., California.Still performs/presents Music Outreach for San Francisco bay area based Bread and Roses organization, to shut-in populations around greater SF-Bay Area.
