Born in Baden Baden Germany the youngest of 5 children. Lotte was educated in Germany and finished while Hitler was in power. Her entire family escaped and fled to America where she had to begin her education all over again (USA would not accept her German credentials). She worked during the day and got a B.A from Brooklyn College at night and then received her M.A. from The Bank Street College of Education. She was a director of Early Childhood Education at the Shorefront YM-YWHAs in Brooklyn and she initiated the Head Start Program in Coney Island. While attending a funeral for one of her friends a woman approached her and asked if she wanted to be in a movie; that woman was Ellen Lewis, and the role was bubbie in Prime. Hide
