Jason Adolphson was born and raised in Missouri. He joined the U.S. Army as a public affairs specialist/photojournalist. After completing five years of honorable wartime service, Jason moved to Hollywood to study filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, then located on the back lot of Universal Studios.Jason moved back to Missouri to be with family after completing film school. He directed an awarded project for a 48-hour film festival, but soon found St. Louis didn't embody the community he needed to grow as an artist.Jason said he wanted to be an actor since childhood, but initially felt filmmaking was a more practical approach, based on his military experience. This time he decided he would go back to Hollywood for good, but as an actor.Jason returned to New York Film Academy to try out a one year acting conservatory because he enjoyed the filmmaking experience he had their. In his year of acting at NYFA he learned many of the fundamentals. Whereas he performed well, he heard the same message from a couple of the teachers he most respected.Knowing that his mentors were members of the Actor's Studio, Jason sought training at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Jason says it was his time at the method acting institute that all of the pieces came together and he learned to define himself as an artist. Hide
